Martide’s partners are seeking skilled maritime professionals to fill various ranks and positions aboard luxury yachts. These vessels provide world-class hospitality, personalized service, and premium experiences for high-profile guests and owners. Crew members are responsible for maintaining the vessel, delivering exceptional guest service, and ensuring operational safety and efficiency. Positions are available in deck, engine, and hospitality departments, each contributing to the seamless operation and luxurious experience expected aboard a yacht.
Key Responsibilities and Duties (varies by role and rank):
Deck Crew (Deckhands, Bosun, Watersports Instructors)
- Assist with docking, mooring, anchoring, and line handling during port calls and offshore stops.
- Maintain the vessel's exterior, including cleaning, polishing, painting, and repair work.
- Set up and maintain watersports equipment, such as jet skis, tenders, kayaks, and diving gear.
- Provide tender services to transport guests between the yacht and shore.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of guests during water activities and excursions.
- Conduct visual inspections and routine maintenance on deck fittings, winches, and safety equipment.
- Participate in emergency response drills, such as firefighting, man-overboard, and abandon-ship procedures.
Engineering Crew (Wipers, Motormen, Engineers, Chief Engineer)
- Operate, maintain, and repair propulsion systems, power generation, and auxiliary shipboard machinery.
- Ensure the continuous operation of electrical, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), and plumbing systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with onboard entertainment, lighting, and luxury systems (jacuzzis, elevators, etc.).
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections of shipboard machinery to avoid operational downtime.
- Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts, tools, and emergency repair supplies.
- Ensure compliance with MARPOL and environmental regulations on bilge water, emissions, and waste management.
- Monitor fuel, water, and power consumption to ensure efficient vessel operation.
Bridge Crew (Watch Officers, 2nd Officer, Chief Officer, Captain)
- Oversee navigation, voyage planning, and watchkeeping to ensure safe passage and compliance with maritime regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety briefings, and emergency drills to ensure crew preparedness.
- Supervise docking, anchoring, and tender operations, ensuring smooth and safe transitions for guests.
- Coordinate with port agents, pilots, and shore support to organize berthing, refueling, and guest logistics.
- Ensure compliance with ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, and the ship's safety management system (SMS).
- Monitor vessel security and access control as required by the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
- Supervise guest safety procedures during excursions, watersports, and activities.
Hospitality and Interior Crew (Stewards/Stewardesses, Chefs, Butlers, Housekeeping Staff)
- Deliver personalized and luxury service to guests, ensuring world-class hospitality.
- Serve food and beverages in line with high-end service standards, including silver service.
- Prepare and present gourmet meals and refreshments for guests and crew.
- Maintain guest cabins, cleaning, changing linens, and ensuring rooms are presented to a luxury standard.
- Handle guest requests, concierge services, and any special needs or requirements.
- Support the overall guest experience, assisting with excursions, watersports, and onshore activities.
- Participate in emergency drills, such as guest evacuation and crowd control.
General Responsibilities (All Ranks and Positions)
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols, especially in guest areas and luxury settings.
- Participate in emergency response drills, including firefighting, rescue, and evacuation procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safe working conditions in guest areas, crew quarters, and operational spaces.
- Work as part of a team to support seamless operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Adapt to guest requests and preferences to create personalized experiences on board.
- Follow international maritime regulations, including ISM, SOLAS, and ISPS, to ensure operational safety and security.
