Martide’s partners are currently recruiting Trainee Messmen to join their teams on various cargo ships and tankers. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in shipboard hospitality and catering services. Working as part of the galley and housekeeping team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the crew's comfort and well-being during voyages. Successful candidates will work under the guidance of experienced crew members to maintain cleanliness, assist in food service, and support day-to-day operations in the mess and accommodation areas.

Key responsibilities generally include:

• Assist with the preparation, serving, and presentation of meals for crew members.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the galley, dining areas, and accommodation spaces.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas.
• Support senior galley staff in receiving, storing, and managing food supplies and provisions.
• Handle waste disposal and adhere to environmental and sanitation regulations.
• Make up and clean crew cabins, restrooms, and communal areas as required.
• Provide support for special meals, events, or additional service requests during voyages.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene protocols in accordance with maritime regulations.
• Report any maintenance issues or hazards in accommodation and galley areas to senior crew.
• Assist in other general housekeeping duties as directed by senior staff.
