Martide’s partners are seeking skilled and customer-focused maritime professionals to fill various ranks and positions aboard passenger and cruise ships. Crew members play a vital role in ensuring passenger satisfaction, maintaining vessel safety, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. Positions are available in deck, engine, and hotel/hospitality departments, each contributing to the smooth, safe, and enjoyable operation of the vessel.

Key Responsibilities and Duties (varies by role and rank):

Deck Crew (Able Seafarers, Deckhands, Bosun)

• Support vessel navigation and watchkeeping duties, ensuring safe passage and maritime security.
• Assist with mooring, unmooring, and berthing operations, handling mooring lines and securing the vessel.
• Maintain and operate deck equipment, such as winches, cranes, and anchoring systems.
• Conduct routine deck maintenance, including cleaning, rust removal, painting, and repair of essential equipment.
• Participate in safety drills, such as abandon-ship, man-overboard, and fire drills.
• Assist in passenger safety during embarkation, disembarkation, and tendering operations.

Engineering Crew (Wipers, Motormen, Engineers, Chief Engineer)

• Operate, maintain, and repair ship propulsion, power generation, and auxiliary machinery.
• Monitor and maintain critical onboard systems, such as HVAC, water treatment, and wastewater systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure the continuous operation of the vessel.
• Ensure compliance with MARPOL regulations on bilge water discharge, emissions, and waste management.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of machinery, engines, and shipboard systems.
• Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts, tools, and emergency repair equipment.

Bridge Crew (Watch Officers, 2nd Officer, Chief Officer, Captain)

• Oversee navigation, voyage planning, and watchkeeping to ensure safe passage and compliance with maritime regulations.
• Conduct safety briefings, risk assessments, and emergency response drills for both passengers and crew.
• Supervise ballast and de-ballast operations to maintain vessel stability during navigation and port calls.
• Coordinate with port authorities, pilots, and port agents for berthing, unberthing, and customs clearance.
• Oversee vessel security, access control, and adherence to the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
• Ensure compliance with ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, and the ship’s safety management system (SMS).

Hospitality and Hotel Staff (Waiters, Chefs, Housekeeping, Entertainment Crew, Guest Services, Cruise Director)

• Deliver outstanding customer service to guests, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the voyage.
• Assist with food and beverage service, including taking orders, serving meals, and managing dining room operations.
• Prepare and present high-quality meals in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in guest cabins, public areas, and hotel facilities.
• Provide entertainment, shows, and activities to create a memorable guest experience.
• Respond to guest inquiries and resolve complaints to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Support emergency response procedures, including passenger evacuation and crowd management.

General Responsibilities (All Ranks and Positions)

• Comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols, especially in the handling of passenger safety and maritime security.
• Participate in emergency response drills, including firefighting, evacuation, and man-overboard procedures.
• Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safe working conditions in all areas of the vessel.
• Support the smooth embarkation, disembarkation, and tendering of passengers at each port of call.
• Follow international maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and ISPS Code requirements.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented atmosphere that supports exceptional guest experiences.
