Martide’s partners are seeking skilled and dedicated maritime professionals to fill various ranks and positions aboard offshore vessels. Crew members are responsible for ensuring safe vessel operations, supporting offshore projects, and maintaining equipment and systems. Positions are available in deck, engine, and bridge departments, with each role contributing to the safe, efficient, and timely completion of offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities and Duties (varies by role and rank):
Deck Crew (Able Seafarers, Deckhands, Riggers, Bosun)
- Support offshore operations such as anchor handling, subsea installation, and deck cargo handling.
- Operate deck equipment such as winches, cranes, capstans, and hydraulic lifting systems.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and securing of deck cargo, including containers, tools, and heavy equipment.
- Handle and maintain mooring lines during berthing, unberthing, and offshore transfer operations.
- Perform deck maintenance, including cleaning, rust removal, painting, and repairing equipment.
- Follow safety protocols during lifting, rigging, and cargo handling operations.
- Participate in emergency response drills, including man-overboard, firefighting, and abandon-ship procedures.
Engineering Crew (Wipers, Motormen, Engineers, Chief Engineer)
- Operate, maintain, and repair propulsion, power generation, and auxiliary systems.
- Support the operation and maintenance of hydraulic systems, cranes, and winches essential to offshore activities.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures to ensure operational readiness.
- Monitor the operation of ballast systems to maintain vessel stability during offshore operations.
- Ensure compliance with MARPOL regulations regarding emissions, bilge water, and waste management.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on critical shipboard systems and equipment.
- Oversee inventory control for essential spare parts, tools, and emergency repair supplies.
Bridge Crew (Watch Officers, 2nd Officer, Chief Officer, Captain)
- Oversee safe navigation, watchkeeping, and voyage planning in compliance with international maritime regulations.
- Coordinate with offshore platforms, rigs, and support vessels to ensure safe positioning and approach.
- Supervise anchor handling, dynamic positioning (DP), and subsea installation operations.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety briefings, and toolbox talks to ensure the crew understands offshore operation plans.
- Plan and oversee ballasting and de-ballasting operations to maintain vessel stability during offshore support activities.
- Ensure compliance with ISM, MARPOL, SOLAS, and the ship's safety management system (SMS).
- Supervise emergency response drills and ensure the crew is prepared for operational emergencies.
- Monitor vessel security and access control as required by the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
General Responsibilities (All Ranks and Positions)
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols, ensuring the highest standards of safety and security.
- Participate in emergency response drills, including firefighting, man-overboard, and evacuation scenarios.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support offshore operations.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safe working conditions in living quarters, working spaces, and operational areas.
- Handle the physical and mental demands of working in offshore environments with changing weather and sea conditions.
- Comply with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and follow vessel security protocols.
