Martide’s partners are seeking experienced and qualified Medics to join their crews aboard cargo and cruise ships. This role is critical to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all crew members and passengers on board. The Medic provides medical care, first aid, and health education while supporting emergency response and maintaining compliance with maritime health regulations.

Key responsibilities generally include:

• Medical Care & Treatment: Provide first aid, emergency medical treatment, and general healthcare to crew members and passengers, addressing both minor injuries and critical medical situations.
• Health Monitoring & Assessment: Conduct health assessments, monitor the health status of crew members, and identify potential health risks to prevent illness outbreaks on board.
• Emergency Response & Crisis Management: Lead medical response efforts in emergency situations, such as injuries, medical evacuations, or major health incidents.
• Medical Supplies & Inventory Management: Manage the ship's medical supplies, equipment, and medications, ensuring the availability of essential items and compliance with maritime health standards.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to international maritime health regulations (MLC) and ship-specific health and safety policies, supporting the ship's health and safety management system.
• Crew Health Education & Training: Conduct health awareness sessions and provide guidance to crew members on hygiene, disease prevention, and mental well-being.
• Infection Control & Hygiene: Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of illness and ensure sanitary conditions in medical, living and guest areas.
• Medical Records & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of medical treatments, health reports, and injury logs, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and confidentiality regulations.
• Support for Port Health Inspections: Assist with port health inspections, ensuring the ship meets health and sanitation standards required by port state control authorities.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with ship officers, senior crew, and shore-side medical support teams to ensure effective healthcare and emergency response.
