Martide’s partners are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Hotel Engineers to join their technical teams aboard cruise ships. This role is essential for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the efficient operation of hotel-related systems and facilities on board. The Hotel Engineer works closely with the Chief Engineer and other technical staff to oversee the smooth operation of guest services, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and water systems, ensuring guest comfort and safety at all times.

Key responsibilities generally include:

System Maintenance & Repairs: Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and repair of hotel-related systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, sanitation, elevators, and electrical systems.

Preventative Maintenance: Carry out preventative maintenance tasks on hotel equipment and systems, identifying potential issues before they result in system failures.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with international maritime safety and environmental standards, as well as shipboard protocols.

Emergency Response: Provide technical support during emergency situations, including plumbing leaks, HVAC failures, and power outages, to minimize disruption to guest services.

Equipment Monitoring: Monitor the performance of hotel systems and ensure all machinery is operating within safe and efficient parameters.

Record-Keeping & Reporting: Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance and repair activities, submitting reports to the Chief Engineer and supporting ship inspections.

Energy Efficiency: Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency across hotel systems, contributing to sustainability and cost-saving initiatives.

Guest Service Support: Respond to guest-related technical issues in cabins, public areas, and other hospitality spaces, ensuring timely resolution.

Inventory & Spare Parts Management: Ensure the availability of spare parts and consumables for hotel systems, working with the supply department to maintain stock levels.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and hospitality staff to ensure seamless shipboard operations and guest satisfaction.
