Martide’s partners are seeking experienced maritime professionals to fill various ranks and positions aboard gas tankers. Positions are available across deck, engine, and bridge departments, each playing a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant operations at sea.

Key Responsibilities and Duties (varies by role and rank):

Deck Crew (Able Seafarers, Deckhands, Bosun)

  • Assist in the safe loading, transfer, and discharge of liquefied gas cargo using specialized handling systems.
    • Handle and maintain cargo transfer hoses, manifolds, and connection points during cargo operations.
      • Conduct visual inspections of cargo containment systems, valves, and deck pipelines to detect leaks or defects.
        • Support mooring and unmooring operations at ports and offshore terminals.
          • Perform deck maintenance, such as cleaning, rust removal, painting, and ensuring proper maintenance of cargo-related equipment.
            • Follow health, safety, and environmental protocols, wearing PPE and participating in emergency response drills.

              Engineering Crew (Wipers, Motormen, Engineers, Chief Engineer)

              • Operate, maintain, and repair the ship's propulsion systems, power generation, and auxiliary machinery.
                • Support the operation and maintenance of cargo containment and cargo handling systems, such as pumps, valves, and reliquefaction units.
                  • Monitor and maintain cargo refrigeration and pressurization systems to ensure optimal conditions for liquefied gas.
                    • Perform preventive maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic, and cryogenic systems essential for cargo control.
                      • Ensure compliance with MARPOL regulations regarding waste, emissions, and bilge water management.
                        • Troubleshoot and repair critical systems to avoid delays and ensure continuous operations.
                          • Oversee spare parts inventory, ensuring the availability of essential repair components.

                            Bridge Crew (Watch Officers, 2nd Officer, Chief Officer, Captain)

                            • Oversee the navigation, voyage planning, and watchkeeping to ensure the safe operation of the ship.
                              • Supervise cargo loading, discharging, and inerting operations in compliance with safety standards and cargo plans.
                                • Coordinate with terminal staff, pilots, and shore personnel for port entry, berthing, and departure procedures.
                                  • Monitor vessel stability, ballast, and de-ballast operations to ensure optimal cargo handling conditions.
                                    • Ensure strict adherence to the International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Liquefied Gases in Bulk (IGC Code).
                                      • Lead emergency drills for gas leaks, fire, collision, and evacuation scenarios.
                                        • Ensure compliance with ISM, MARPOL, SOLAS, and company safety management system (SMS) requirements.

                                          General Responsibilities (All Ranks and Positions)

                                          • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols to minimize risks and ensure crew safety.
                                            • Participate in emergency response drills, including firefighting, gas leak response, and rescue operations.
                                              • Handle the physical and mental demands of working in confined spaces and hazardous environments.
                                                • Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and proper housekeeping in all working and living areas.
                                                  • Follow the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code to ensure ship security and access control.
                                                    • Foster teamwork, professionalism, and accountability to maintain operational safety
