Martide’s partners are seeking dedicated and skilled Fourth Engineers to join the engineering teams aboard ther vessels. This vital role involves the operation, maintenance, and repair of essential shipboard machinery and technical systems to ensure smooth vessel operations. Working under the supervision of senior engineers, the Fourth Engineer plays a key part in maintaining the efficiency, safety, and reliability of the ship's mechanical, electrical, and auxiliary systems.

Key responsibilities generally include:

• Operation & Maintenance: Support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of key machinery, including auxiliary engines, generators, boilers, and pumps.
• System Inspections: Conduct daily inspections and performance checks on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, ensuring early detection of faults or irregularities.
• Repairs & Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to maritime safety, health, and environmental regulations, supporting compliance during audits and inspections.
• Emergency Response: Provide support during emergency situations, including mechanical failures or equipment breakdowns, to minimize downtime and maintain vessel safety.
• Inventory Management: Assist in tracking and managing spare parts and tools, ensuring sufficient stock levels for routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, system performance, and repairs, providing reports to the Chief and Second Engineers as required.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers, deck officers, and ship personnel to ensure smooth vessel operations and effective communication.
