Martide’s partners are seeking motivated and hardworking Engine Boys to join their engineering departments aboard a variety of vessels. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the ship's engine room, supporting the engineering team with routine maintenance, repairs, and daily operational tasks. The role is essential to ensuring the smooth functioning of the ship's machinery, power systems, and auxiliary equipment.

Key responsibilities generally include:

• Assist with the cleaning, maintenance, and lubrication of engines, pumps, generators, and other mechanical equipment in the engine room.
• Support engineers in performing daily engine room inspections, identifying faults, and reporting issues to senior engineering staff.
• Assist with machinery start-up and shutdown procedures as directed by the Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer.
• Ensure that engine room tools, equipment, and work areas are clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Monitor and replenish engine fluids such as lubricants, oils, and coolants as required.
• Support in handling spare parts, consumables, and other supplies for machinery repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Follow shipboard safety protocols and participate in safety drills and emergency response training.
• Assist in maintaining accurate logs of maintenance activities and daily operational records.
