Martide’s partners are seeking skilled and experienced Electricians to join their technical team aboard various cargo ships and tankers. The Electrician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems, machinery, and equipment throughout the vessel. This role ensures the efficient operation of essential shipboard systems, including power generation, lighting, control panels, and navigation equipment.

Key responsibilities generally include:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including switchboards, power generators, motors, transformers, and power distribution systems.
    • Inspect, maintain, and repair lighting systems, emergency power supplies, and battery backup systems.
      • Perform routine maintenance and testing of electrical control panels, circuits, and automation systems.
        • Assist in the calibration and maintenance of navigation and communication systems, such as radar, GPS, and VHF radio.
          • Respond to electrical emergencies, diagnosing and resolving issues to ensure continuous power supply and system functionality.
            • Maintain compliance with maritime safety standards, including ISM, SOLAS, and other relevant maritime regulations.
              • Conduct inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues and address them before they result in breakdowns.
                • Support cargo handling operations by ensuring the functionality of cargo equipment, such as cranes, winches, and hoists.
                  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, inspection results, and repair work to support audits and technical reviews.
