Martide’s partners are seeking highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineers to join their engineering teams aboard a range of vessels. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the safe operation of all electrical and electronic systems on the vessel. This critical role ensures the reliability of shipboard power systems, navigation equipment, and control systems, which are essential to the ship's overall performance and safety.

Key responsibilities generally include:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, switchboards, and control panels.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment such as motors, generators, lighting systems, and emergency backup systems.
• Ensure the correct operation and calibration of navigation, communication, and automation systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical equipment and identify potential faults before they result in downtime or system failures.
• Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing maintenance schedules, documenting repairs, and ensuring timely completion of preventative maintenance tasks.
• Respond to electrical emergencies, such as system failures or blackouts, and take immediate action to restore power.
• Comply with international maritime regulations, including ISM and SOLAS, ensuring all electrical systems meet safety standards.
• Participate in safety drills and emergency preparedness training, ensuring readiness for all potential scenarios.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff, including Electrical Cadets.
