Martide’s partners are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join their technical teams aboard cruise or passenger ships. This role is essential to the upkeep, repair, and construction of ship interiors, ensuring passenger areas, crew accommodations, and operational spaces remain safe, functional, and visually appealing.
Key responsibilities generally include:
- Conduct maintenance, repair, and installation of wooden, laminate, and composite materials throughout the ship’s public, private, and operational areas.
- Repair and replace furniture, fittings, decks, partitions, ceilings, doors, and other interior fixtures as required.
- Respond to daily maintenance requests from the technical department, including emergency repair needs.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, laminates, and other materials to meet ship-specific requirements.
- Ensure all carpentry work complies with ship safety regulations, quality standards, and maritime industry guidelines.
- Perform inspections to identify damage or wear, recommending repairs or replacements as needed.
- Maintain tools, materials, and workspaces in a safe, organized, and functional state.
- Collaborate with the technical and maintenance teams to support ship-wide maintenance operations.
