Martide’s partners are seeking a skilled and experienced Cable Repair Technician to join their technical teams aboard various vessels. This essential role involves maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, communication, and control system cables across the vessel. As a Cable Repair Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and functionality of key shipboard systems that support navigation, communication, cargo operations, and general vessel operations.

Key responsibilities generally include:

• Inspect, test, and diagnose faults in electrical, communication, and control system cables onboard the ship.
• Perform cable splicing, connector installation, and repairs for electrical and fiber optic cables as needed.
• Conduct preventive maintenance of all onboard cable systems, ensuring reliability and reducing downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Utilize specialized tools and testing equipment to locate and repair cable faults.
• Ensure all cable repairs and maintenance work adhere to international maritime safety standards and electrical codes.
• Maintain a record of cable repair activities and report progress to the Chief Engineer or Electrical Officer.
• Assist with general electrical maintenance and support during cargo operations and mooring.
