Martide’s partners are seeking skilled and experienced maritime professionals to fill various ranks and positions aboard Bulk/Oil Carrier (OBO) vessels. Crew members play a vital role in ensuring the safe navigation, cargo handling, and maintenance of the ship's specialized systems. Positions are available for deck, engine, and bridge crew, with each role contributing to the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.

Key Responsibilities and Duties (varies by role and rank):

Deck Crew (Able Seafarers, Deckhands, Bosun)

  • Assist in the loading, unloading, and securing of both bulk and liquid cargo using specialized equipment.
    • Carry out cargo inspections to check for contamination, leakage, and moisture issues.
      • Ensure the proper cleaning, preparation, and maintenance of cargo tanks, holds, and hatches.
        • Support mooring, anchoring, and pilotage operations during port entry and departure.
          • Maintain and operate deck machinery, including winches, cranes, pumps, and hatch covers.
            • Perform general deck maintenance, including cleaning, painting, and rust prevention.
              • Comply with health, safety, and environmental protocols, wearing PPE and participating in emergency drills.

                Engineering Crew (Wipers, Motormen, Engineers, Chief Engineer)

                • Operate, maintain, and repair the ship's propulsion systems, power generators, and auxiliary machinery.
                  • Monitor and manage liquid cargo transfer pumps, valves, and cargo handling systems.
                    • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of ballast, inert gas, and cargo tank cleaning systems.
                      • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations for emissions control, oil-water separation, and waste management.
                        • Supervise fuel and lubricant consumption to maximize operational efficiency.
                          • Oversee the stock of critical spare parts and consumables required for routine maintenance and emergency repairs.

                            Bridge Crew (Watch Officers, 2nd Officer, Chief Officer, Captain)

                            • Plan and oversee safe navigation and voyage planning, accounting for cargo type and ship stability.
                              • Supervise cargo loading and discharge operations to ensure compliance with cargo plans and safety protocols.
                                • Oversee ballasting and de-ballasting operations to maintain vessel stability and trim.
                                  • Maintain compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, and ISM regulations for the handling of liquid and bulk cargoes.
                                    • Ensure the ship maintains watertight integrity and that tank inspections are conducted as required.
                                      • Conduct regular safety drills, risk assessments, and training sessions with the crew.
                                        • Lead bridge watchkeeping operations and oversee communication with port authorities, pilots, and offshore platforms.

                                          General Responsibilities (All Ranks and Positions)

                                          • Follow all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
                                            • Participate in emergency response drills and exercises as part of the ship’s emergency preparedness.
                                              • Adhere to international maritime laws, including pollution prevention, safety protocols, and ISPS code compliance.
                                                • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in living and working areas.
                                                  • Work as part of a close-knit team to achieve operational efficiency and meet voyage timelines.
                                                    • Adapt to changing cargo types and the specific operational requirements of each voyage.
