Martide’s partners are seeking a skilled and experienced Bosun to join the deck crew aboard various vessels. As Bosun, you will play a key leadership role, overseeing the deck crew’s daily operations and ensuring that all tasks related to ship maintenance, cargo handling, and safety protocols are executed efficiently.

Key responsibilities generally include

• Supervise and coordinate the daily duties of the deck crew, including maintenance, cleaning, painting, and repair work on deck, hull, and superstructure.
• Assist with cargo handling operations, including the loading, unloading, securing, and stowing of cargo according to ship schedules.
• Conduct safety drills, enforce shipboard safety regulations, and ensure proper use of safety gear and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform routine inspections of the ship's deck, mooring equipment, and cargo-handling gear to identify issues and ensure proper functioning.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of mooring lines, winches, cranes, and other deck equipment.
• Maintain inventory and request supplies as needed for ongoing deck operations and maintenance tasks.
• Work closely with the Chief Officer and provide updates on the progress of deck operations.
• Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the ship’s exterior and deck areas.
